Trax was appointed in January to independently review all aspects of the Brisbane PIR, with a particular focus on opportunities to limit and where possible reduce impacts of aircraft noise. The Trax Final Report was released in mid-August.
Airservices Chief Executive Officer Jason Harfield said: “Airservices has carefully considered the Trax Final Report and adopts all the recommendations. We look forward to engaging further with the community on the report and our response to it.
“As we have said throughout the PIR process, Airservices is committed to considering all opportunities for improved noise outcomes for the Brisbane community and to progressing those options assessed as safe and feasible.”
As part of the PIR, Airservices will conduct a series of community workshops in September to discuss the Trax Final Report recommendations, other Airservices findings and seek feedback.
Following these meetings, the community and stakeholders will then have a four-week period to provide submissions that will inform the final PIR recommendations planned for release later in the year.
