Airservices Perth fire fighters called into action

Airservices Australia’s Perth Aviation Rescue Fire Fighters were called into action yesterday to fight a large fire in a recycling facility near the airport.

Airservices Aviation Rescue Fire Fighting Services (ARFFS) responded following a mutual aid request from the WA Department of Fire and Emergency Services (DFES) 10 crew members and two Mk8 ultra large fire vehicles.

Each vehicle has the capacity to hold more than 9,000 litres of water and spray this more than 80 meters onto a fire.

They joined over 100 other fire fighters in an effort to put out the blaze. Perth Operations Manager Paul Brown praised all crew and technicians involved in the incident.

ARFFS was also involved in the incident management team.
